Our work in English and School Education enhances the quality of English teaching, learning and assessment in Thailand. This opens up access to academic, career and social opportunities for young people and adults, empowering them with the confidence and skills to build international connections and participate actively in a global world.
Our work in Thailand focuses on School Systems, working with offices and agencies within the formal Thailand education system to:
- Deliver opportunities for both serving and prospective teachers of English at primary and secondary education phases.
- Support Primary Teacher Education (PTE) majors to teach English (e.g., those from smaller, rural and/or remote schools who teach English as well as other subjects)
- Develop English Language Teacher Education (ELTE) majors (e.g. those who only teach English in schools).
- Expand our hybrid teacher development courses for English teachers (at primary and secondary phases, “ReBoot”, and for prospective teachers of English, “PreBoot”).
- Provide pathways for English teachers to become teacher educators through training and real-world experiences leading other teachers.
- Support teacher educators with opportunities for further professional development such as CPD frameworks, presenting at national and international conferences, and attending education-phase appropriate specialist training (e.g., phonics workshops)
