You can also watch the event live on Teaching English Asia - British Council | Facebook no registration needed. On the platforms you can participate in live moderated discussions via comments and obtain attendance certificates, just like in Zoom.

Our conference is free and take place in Zoom Events. You do not need any special equipment to watch the webinars apart from a computer or smartphone with the audio on. If you are joining on a mobile device, you may be able to use the web client, but you may need to download the Zoom application to your device.

Step 1: Register for the conference

You should register for the conference using the links provided for each week (Week 1, Week 2, or Week 3). Once you register for the week you’d like to attend, you will gain access to all sessions scheduled for that week.

During registration, please provide a valid email address. This will be used to send you important updates and your access link to join the event. Your information will not be used for marketing purposes unless you explicitly give us permission to do so during the registration process. Step 2: Confirm your registration 

Once you have registered for the event, you will receive a confirmation email containing your unique link to join the event.

*Please do not delete this email. You will need it to access the event lobby.

Step 3: Joining the sessions 

  •  On the day of the event, click your access link from your email to enter the Zoom Events lobby.
  •  From the lobby, browse the agenda and select the session you wish to join.
  •  Click “Join” to enter the session at the scheduled time.

*Please note: You only need to register once per week. If you would like to attend sessions across multiple weeks, you will need to register separately for each week’s link.

In addition to live sessions, the ASEAN TeachingEnglish Online Conference 2025 offers interactive features on Zoom Events:

  • Teaching Showcase: discover inspiring classroom practices from teachers across ASEAN. The showcase sessions highlight innovative ideas, practical activities, and success stories you can apply in your own teaching.
  • Digital Posters: browse our collection of digital posters at your own pace in the Zoom Events lobby. Each poster presents research, projects, or classroom experiences, with opportunities to leave comments and connect with the presenters.

These features are available through the Zoom Events lobby once you’ve registered and logged in for the week.

We’re excited to feature a diverse line-up of speakers from across East Asia, including teachers and teacher educators with extensive experience in English language teaching and training, as well as, international experts from across the ELT spectrum.

Certificates of attendance are available for each attendees. The link to obtain your certificate is provided in the following places:

  • In the 'Thank you for attending email' that you will receive after the webinar. Please note that you will need to give permission for us to send you this email when you register.
  • If you watch the event live on Facebook, links to attendance certificates will be shared via comments.
  • At the end of the feedback survey once you have answered the questions.

You should download the certificate to your computer (you won’t be able to edit the certificate on a mobile phone). Once the certificate is saved to your computer, open it and type your name on the certificate. We recommend using Google Chrome or Internet Explorer to do this. You cannot do this from a mobile device.

  • Please be respectful at all times to other participants and the presenter. Our webinars are freely available to attend by participants in all countries. Please be aware that comments you make in the general chat may have a negative impact on other participants and their enjoyment of the webinar.
  • Do not use insulting or offensive language or comments about the presenter or their presentation or criticise their style of presentation.
  • Do not use insulting or offensive language or comments towards other participants.
  • Do not make comments that include cultural references that may be offensive or upsetting to other participants or the presenter.
  • Any offensive or insulting comments will be deleted and the participant making the comment will be removed from the webinar.
  • Do not share any personal information in the general chat that may result in other participants contacting you. This includes addresses, phone numbers and email addresses.
  • Do not share links to your website or any websites that you are promoting for the purposes of making money.
  • Comments that include links to paid-for websites for the sole purpose of promotion will be deleted and you may be removed from the webinar.
  • Please use the Q&A function on Zoom or the chat to ask the presenter questions that are related to the theme or topic of the webinar only. If participant responses to questions are permitted, you should only make comments that are relevant to the question being asked.
