Meet our speakers

Dr Andy Curtis

Dr Andy Curtis is a globally recognised educator, author, and speaker in language education. Over 35 years, he has (co)authored and (co)edited more than 200 publications and presented to over 50,000 educators in 100+ countries. A former President of TESOL International Association (2015), his work has reached readers in more than 150 countries. Dr. Curtis is currently a Distinguished Guest Professor at the City University of Macau and teaches at Anaheim University. 

Christopher Graham

Christopher Graham is an ELT and Sustainability Education consultant, author, and President of IATEFL, where he also chairs the Board of Trustees and Publications Committee. He has worked worldwide with the British Council, education ministries, and publishers, with two British Council ELTons to his credit. His work focuses on ELT and sustainability, teacher education in fragile contexts, and train-the-trainer development. 

Dr Itje Chodidjah

Dr Itje Chodidjah is an independent English Language Teaching (ELT) specialist with over 40 years of experience in the field. She holds a Master’s degree from the University of Warwick, UK, and a PhD in English Education from the Indonesia University of Education. Her areas of expertise include curriculum and materials development, assessment, English for young learners, and professional development. Dr Chodidjah has extensive experience in teacher training, in Indonesia and internationally.

Aung Min Paing

Aung Min Paing is a teacher trainer, speaking examiner, and training coordinator at Green Tara Institute in Myanmar. He holds a CELTA, DELTA Module 1, a Graduate Diploma in TESOL, and a Diploma in Teacher Training, and is currently pursuing DELTA Module 3 and an MA in Applied Linguistics. With a strong focus on professional development and language education, Paing also contributes as a freelance writer for international conferences. 

Le Thanh Ha

Le Thanh Ha is a lecturer at Foreign Trade University, Ho Chi Minh City Campus, Vietnam. She is currently a PhD candidate at Hanoi University of Languages and International Studies, Vietnam National University (VNU). Her research interests include teacher professional development, language and identity, and student engagement. Ha is dedicated to enhancing language education through research and innovation, particularly in the Vietnamese higher education context.

Dr Joel C. Meniado

Dr Joel C. Meniado is a language specialist at SEAMEO RELC in Singapore, where he teaches postgraduate courses on ELT pedagogy, technology integration, and classroom-based research. With over 20 years of experience, he has worked as an English lecturer, educator, and teacher trainer across Southeast Asia and the Arabian Gulf. Dr Meniado has also led various teacher development organisations in Asia and North America. 

Saengkae Khonghuayrob

Saengkae Khonghuayrob is an educator and Director of the English Language Institute at the Human Capital Excellence Management Center (HCEMC), Office of Basic Education Commission. She leads professional development initiatives and English proficiency programs for teachers, educational personnel, and learners. Saengkae’s expertise focuses on educational supervision, reflective practice, and teacher development, aiming to enhance English language education across diverse learning contexts. 

Carol Read

Carol Read is an experienced teacher, teacher educator, academic manager, international consultant, and author specialising in early years and primary ELT. She has published extensively in this field and is recognized globally for her expertise. Carol is also a former President of IATEFL, having contributed significantly to the language teaching community. Her work focuses on developing effective teaching practices for young learners. 

Aung Kyaw Phyo

Aung Kyaw Phyo is an ELT consultant and teacher educator with over 15 years of experience. He published a mini bilingual dictionary with Tuttle Publishing in 2020. Aung Kyaw has worked as a lecturer at the University of Yangon and as a senior teacher trainer with Saya Foundation. Currently, he works freelance, delivering training, webinars, and workshops for English teachers. He holds two MA degrees in English as a Foreign Language and TESOL. 

Dr Vu Thi Thanh Nha

Dr Vu Thi Thanh Nha is the Dean of the Faculty of English Language and Culture at the University of Languages and International Studies, Vietnam National University. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in English Language Teaching from ULIS and a Doctorate in Education from the University of New South Wales, Australia. Nha has contributed to curriculum development, teacher training, and educational projects with the Ministry of Education, US REL Office, Australian Alumni, British Council. 

Emma Nguyen

Emma Nguyen is a Vietnamese EdTech specialist and English teacher with over 10 years of experience, including 4 years in online teaching. She is the founder of TECH4EDU and "English with Emma," initiatives that empower educators to use free digital tools for creating engaging lessons. Emma organises workshops on AI, gamification, and digital pedagogy and authored the ebook 50 Edtech Tools to Transform Your Teaching. She develops resources to support under-resourced teachers in rural areas.

Dr Nguyen Thi Hong Nhat

Dr Nguyen Thi Hong Nhat is Dean of the Faculty of English and a lecturer at Hanoi Pedagogical University 2, Vietnam. She holds a doctoral degree from the University of Queensland and has received scholarships from Vietnamese, Australian, and U.S. governments. Dr. Nhat has published widely, including research articles, a book, and five coursebooks, and serves as a peer reviewer for international journals and conferences.

Ken Hyland

Ken Hyland is an Honorary Professor at the University of East Anglia. He has published over 330 articles and 30 books on writing and academic discourse with over 100,000 citations on Google Scholar. According to the Stanford/Elsevier analysis of the Scopus database, he is the most influential scholar in language and linguistics (2022, 2023, 2024). He is a visiting professor at Jilin University in China and a Foundation Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of the Humanities. 

Mary Rose Banaag

Mary Rose Banaag is a Certified TOEFL trainer, teacher trainer, and EdTech specialist with over 15 years of experience teaching ESL and EFL to young and adult learners. She designs and delivers training programs for B2B and B2C clients across diverse cultural contexts. Passionate about educational innovation, Mary integrates AI tools and digital resources with creative teaching methods to create dynamic, student-centred lessons. 

Yuni Tampi

Yuni Tampi is an English teacher at a state junior high school and a Deep Learning facilitator for in-service teachers in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. With over a decade of experience, she actively contributes to teacher leadership and professional development. As a Guru Penggerak and instructional coach for the National Teacher Leadership Program, Yuni facilitates training on curriculum, instructional design, and teacher capacity building. 

Kanchanochon Woodeson (Ajarn Vicky)

Kanchanochon Woodeson (Ajarn Vicky) is an English lecturer with over 30 years of teaching experience in Thailand and Korea. She holds a Bachelor’s in English and a Master’s in Teaching English. Her expertise lies in reading, writing, and communication, helping students build confidence in language skills. International training in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, and Germany has enriched her teaching approach, blending global perspectives with effective strategies. 

Myat Noe Lwin

Myat Noe Lwin is a Senior Lecturer at STI Myanmar College and former academic coordinator at the University of Bedfordshire. Her global education experience enriches her expertise in language education. Myat actively mentors students on academic pathways, higher education, and scholarships. Through freelance consulting and involvement with youth organizations, she provides guidance on career planning, study strategies, and application writing, supporting personal growth and scholarship success.

Jeremy Harmer

Jeremy Harmer, a renowned ELT teacher, trainer, and consultant, is the author of key methodology books like The Practice of English Language Teaching and How to Teach English (Pearson), plus course materials such as Jetstream and Story-based Language Teaching (Helbling). He also wrote 50 Communicative Activities and graded readers including Solo Saxophone (Cambridge). In 2026, he launched the English Teaching Today series with Betterlate Publishing.

Safitry Wahyuni

Safitry Wahyuni, M.Pd., is an English teacher at SMP Negeri 2 Samarinda, Indonesia, and a consultant for the English Teachers’ Association in Samarinda. A Fulbright DAI alumna with over 15 years of experience, she specialises in integrating technology and AI to promote inclusive learning for diverse students. Safitry has been invited to speak at numerous local, national, and international conferences, including TEFLIN, Asia TEFL, CamTESOL, ThaiTESOL, DIELE, and OpenTESOL. 

Búi Phù

Búi Phù is co-founder and academic manager of Protalk English Center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. With over 12 years of experience, she specialises in communicative language teaching for university students and working adults. Búi holds a Master’s in Cultural Tourism Management from Chulalongkorn University and a CELTA Pass A from Cambridge. Her recent work focuses on leveraging technology and grassroots initiatives to support inclusive teaching communities and teacher leadership.

Dr Nang May Thin Nwe (Teacher Ivy)

Dr Nang May Thin Nwe, known as Teacher Ivy, is the Founder and Academic Director of Ivy Education Group, one of Myanmar’s largest English education networks. Holding a CELTA and pursuing DELTA training from International House London, she has trained over 40,000 students and leads a team of 50+ educators across IELTS, General English, and Young Learner programs. As a British Council Platinum Plus Partner, she specialises in IELTS strategy, learner motivation, and teacher development. 

Dr Willy Ardian Renandya

Dr Willy A. Renandya is a seasoned language teacher educator with extensive experience across Asia. He teaches language education courses in Singapore at NIE-NTU, SUSS, and RELC, and serves as a visiting professor at Chulalongkorn University and Wuhan University. Dr Renandya has delivered keynotes at major ELT conferences such as AsiaTEFL, IATEFL, and SEAMEO RELC. He has published widely on second language education.
