Course objectives & methodology

  • To enhance students’ fluency and accuracy in tasks and activities requiring listening, reading, writing, and speaking (with a focus on clear, accurate pronunciation)
  • To develop receptive skills to help students deal effectively with the kinds of academic texts and recordings that are a principal feature of study at senior secondary and tertiary levels
  • To help students maintain a conversation on a wide range of topics, expressing opinions and presenting arguments
  • Lessons feature small group discussions to help students learn to prepare, present and discuss key topics effectively
  • We work closely with the school to ensure academic targets are in line with school objectives and tests
  • We use key academic topics to develop skills and grammar, as well as broaden students' vocabulary and understanding of academic discourse
  • A range of academic resources are used to help students prepare for examinations (such as IELTS) and university study
