Adrian Underhill

Adrian Underhill is a consultant, trainer, author, speaker, past president of the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL), series editor of Macmillan books for teachers, and author of Sound Foundations: Learning and Teaching Pronunciuation. He is interested in systems thinking, organisational learning, leadership development and how pronunciation is learnt and taught. He’s also an organic gardener, tea drinker, and jazz musician.

Alessia Cogo

Alessia Cogo is a senior lecturer in Applied Linguistics at Goldsmiths, University of London and Editor-in-Chief of ELT Journal. Her research explores the diversity of English and translanguaging practices from a sociolinguistic perspective. She’s worked on English as a Lingua Franca and multilingual aspects in Europe, Brazil and Thailand. Currently, she examines the intersection of ELF, critical pedagogy and social justice. 

Colm Downes

Colm Downes is a freelance ELT consultant with 25+ years of experience in language education and professional skills training, globally. As Director of English, Education and Society for the British Council in Indonesia (2019-2022), he led climate action initiatives and developed global teacher training resources.  Previously, he led British Council English teams in Palestine and Iraq. Colm has written ESP books including Cambridge English for Job Hunting and English for UN Peacekeepers.

Dadan

Dadan is an accomplished trainer focusing on the development of skills vital for teaching and creativity. He is founder and executive director of Kelas Kreatif Indonesia Foundation, which works to empower teachers with new skills. Recognising the significant role of teachers play in student achievement and quality education, Dadan and his team have spearheaded ongoing and comprehensive professional development programmes tailored to the specific needs of Indonesian educators.

Damkerng Mungthanya

Damkerng Mungthanya, a secondary school English teacher in Bangkok, Thailand was inspired to pursue teaching despite facing challenges as a blind person. His desire to promote inclusive education prompted Damkerng to teach at a mainstream school. He is passionate about identifying each learner’s differences and motivations, plus developing practical techniques to improve teaching so all students can reach their full potential. 

Daniel Kurniawan

Daniel Kurniawan is an enthusiastic English language teacher from Magelang, Indonesia, with over 10 years of experience across various learner levels. Currently teaching English and pedagogical courses at a private university in Central Java, he thrives on engaging with students and fostering a love for language. Daniel uses a learner-centered approach, integrating learners' personal experiences, interests, and stories into lessons, making English accessible and relevant for non-native speakers.

Dr George M Jacobs

Dr George M Jacobs, PhD, is a passionate educator at the Kampung Senang Charity and Education Foundation in Singapore, where he excels in teaching English to a diverse range of learners. As well as his strong focus on student-centred education, George’s interests include environmental education and sustainable diets. George enjoys writing and presenting, sharing his practical insights on effective teaching practices.

Dr Sirhajwan Idek

Dr. Sirhajwan Idek, an English teacher at Keningau Vocational College in Sabah, Malaysia, is a recipient of the National Teacher Icon and Charismatic National Youth icon awards. He mentors students in portraying cultural stories, winning awards for projects on ethnic stories and arts. As head of research and innovation, he oversees students' and teachers' scholarly work, incorporating English into their entrepreneurial ventures.

Dr Thinh Nguyen

Dr Thinh Nguyen is a senior lecturer for the advanced programme at Ha Long University. She holds a PhD and masters degrees in TESOL and business studies. She has over 14 years of  experience as an ESP and EMI teacher. Her professional research interests include cultural integration into classrooms and autonomous learning skills. One of her greatest motivations is using Edtech tools to improve teaching methods in classrooms.

Dr Van Thi Hong Le

Dr Van Thi Hong Le is a Senior English Lecturer at Tay Nguyen University, holding a Doctorate in TESOL from the University of Central Florida. Her expertise lies in strength-based teaching, oral communication, instructional technology, language skill development for English learners, and ESL/EFL teacher education. Dr Le has received prestigious awards, including the VIED Full Scholarship for her PhD studies in the US, and the TESOL Albert H. Marckwardt Travel Grant.
