Bulakapa is a village in Narathiwas Province. The majority of the population are fishermen. The area is abundant, and pandan or panan (Lygodium flexuosum) are commonly found at the seaside, so community members have been creating craft products from it. This collection is inspired by the colour of nature surrounding us, such as the white clouds, greenery on the mountain, brown sand and blue sea.
“Weaving expertise has been passed down from our ancestors to the younger generation. Starting with learning easy weaving skills like making mats for everyday use within the household, members of the community later began to make products for sale to gain extra income. Now we have formed a group so knowledge can be shared among members, and our beautiful products are inspired by what we have in our village.”
