Dr Deanpen Japrung

Director of Strategic Research Initiatives, National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA)

Deanpen utilises her Oxford education to advance scientific innovation in Thailand, specifically through developing accessible health diagnostics. Her focus on kidney disease diagnostics for rural communities not only helps to meet urgent health needs but also supports Thailand’s sustainability goals. Looking ahead, Deanpen plans to expand her international collaborations further, aiming to inspire the next generation of scientists through impactful, global scientific cooperation.

Dr Maslin Osathanunkul

Lecturer, Chiang Mai University

Maslin uncovers nature’s hidden secrets through innovative DNA technology. She was appointed as a professor at Chiang Mai University. There, she transforms ordinary water samples into extraordinary discoveries, having helped save almost 10 near-extinct species while developing groundbreaking early warning systems to protect beachgoers from dangerous jellyfish.

Now expanding her wildlife-saving missions across Thai rivers, she embodies the Thai-UK partnership’s 170-year legacy.

 

Professor Dr Suejit Pechprasarn

Professor and Dean, Graduate School Rangsit University

Suejit is a pioneering researcher whose innovations in AI diagnostics and nanophotonics are transforming healthcare in Thailand. His research in plasmonic microscopy has enhanced disease diagnostics, increasing accuracy by 30%, his AI-powered screening tools are improving the early detection of critical conditions. Recently appointed as a Distinguished Adviser to the Economic Commission of the House of Representatives, he integrates research and policy to create a meaningful impact.
