About this course

This course is for children between the ages of 12-16 in Mattayom classes with the aim to promote all aspects of English skills for everyday-life use, exam taking, boosting general English grades and improving study skills, paving the way to a more successful academic future.

On this course your child will:

  • improve all English skills with fluency and accuracy
  • become more independent and confident as our classroom activities require full participation from students
  • do better at school with their improved English
  • develop their motivation for learning as they will find learning English with us a fun and enjoyable experience

We offer 40-hour courses each academic year, as well as special courses during the summer.

Course details

Teen Courses provide students with the maximum possible exposure to the English language using the most up-to-date teaching methods, as well as specially selected coursebooks and high quality teaching materials.

COURSE AIMS & CONTENT

Our courses aim to provide:

  • constant feedback from highly-qualified teachers to improve their grammar accuracy and expand their vocabulary range
  • opportunities to practice using English for communication both in and outside of classroom, from writing simple sentences about their family to writing an essay.
  • development of useful learning skills such as team working and analytical skills as well as exam skills such as scanning and skimming

PARENTS’ INVOLVEMENT

How will I learn about my child’s progress?

Our professional teachers help monitor your child’s progress throughout the course, using a number of assessment tasks. They will counsel you on your child’s progress during the course, and at the end of the course your child will receive a certificate and an individual recommendation for further study.

  • SMS in case of student’s absence or lateness
  • Parent Orientation Days – Induction to British Council’s approach, teachers, lessons and registrations. Parents will have the opportunity to meet the Senior Teachers and Customer Services Manager and ask questions.
  • Parent  Workshop – Workshop on how you as a parent can help your children to learn English at home. Suggested activities and material will be provided by our Young Learner team.
  • Parent Day- Meet the teacher of your children regarding their performance through the term.
