Workshop on innovative and sustainable competitiveness in food & drink technology 

Bangkok, 8-11 February 2016

In 2014, British Council and the Thailand Research Fund initiated a programme titled “Innovative and Sustainable Competitiveness in Food & Drink Industry” with the aim of building partnerships between industry and researchers in both countries, contributing to understanding and implementation of improved green productivity and food safety standards. This could potentially lead to higher competitiveness for food and drinks manufacturing enterprises, and in turn increase the income and quality of life for all those connected to the industry.

To build upon this project and to create further links between the UK and Thailand, and initiate further collaboration for strengthening capacity of Thai researchers to help address major societal challenges, we are holding a 5-day workshop Bangkok from 8-11 February 2016 with the following objectives:

1.To strengthen the existing links and/or establish new research & innovation links in the area of food innovation partnership

2.To identify synergies, potential research projects and collaborations in setting up the research & innovation links in area mentioned above

3.To build partnerships between industry and researchers in the UK and Thailand that could lead to a higher competitiveness of food and drink manufacturing enterprises
