Queen Ethelburga's Collegiate Foundation comprises four schools for students from 5 years old through to 18 years old each with its unique qualities, Chapter house junior School, King’s Magna Middle School, The Faculty of Queen Ethelburga’s and Queen Ethelburga’s College.

Situated in the beautiful north Yorkshire countryside, ideally located between York and Harrogate, our location provides a very safe environment for our student to both study and to live. 

There are strong academic standards across the Foundation and students are encouraged to have high expectations for their achievement and career prospects. There is a very wide curriculum available, which enables students to pursue their individual interests and aspirations across a range of fields, The College is ranked 8th in the UK for A level results by the Sunday Times with 96.2% A*/A and the Faculty is ranked 34th for A level results with 91.7% A*/B.

The superb boarding accommodation is probably the finest in Europe and 6th Form students have modern en-suite apartment style accommodation, comprising kitchen/lounge area with plasma TV’s, games console, safe, iron and ironing board, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. All bedrooms on the campus are en-suite and there are 2 or 3 students in each room. 

There are excellent sports facilities with a very large Sports Hall, 25 metre indoor heated swimming pool, with Spa pool and sauna, state of the art 108 station Fitness Centre, the outdoor facilities for sport are exceptional with the very latest LED floodlighting. Our grass and astro turf sport pitches and newly surfaced tennis courts are finished to national standard. Students can join in a variety of sports including basketball, volleyball, football, rugby, cricket, tennis, athletics and gymnastics. 

We offer over 150 co-curricular activities weekly providing depth and diversity to compliment the academic curriculum. We have first class Pastoral care giving the individual support that is needed for our diverse school community.

We currently have 67 nationalities in our school however over 50% of our students are from the UK.

In February 2019 the school had its statutory inspection for compliance and quality by the Independent School Inspectorate and was marked as Excellent, the highest quality mark that a school can receive.
