British Council, UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities, together with State Railway of Thailand and Siam Paragon, will be bringing the special parkour performance in the theme of ‘STEAM’ to the Thai audience during 11 – 14 November 2015. The performance is created by the amazing Urban Playground team from the UK to celebrate the forwarding into the 5th century of Thailand – UK relations as well as the 99th Anniversary of the State Railway of Thailand. There will be 4 days performance in Bangkok and Chiang Mai.
Founded in 2004, the UK-based Urban Playground Team are the original performance-parkour (2PK) company; creating touring and site specific shows combining parkour with contemporary and urban dance. Their work has been presented on five continents and they teach wherever they go. As leaders of the international 2PK Network they bring together practitioners from around the world and support the development of new 2PK communities globally.
Performance-Parkour moves beyond simple demonstration to create a dialogue between practitioners, audiences and the places in which they live. Dynamic choreographies explore the relationship between the human body and the built environment redefining an audience’s vision of home.
To celebrate commemoration of forwarding into the 5th century of Thailand – UK relations as well as the 99th Anniversary of the State Railway of Thailand, The urban Playground is created the new performance in order to reflect the STEAM concept. The movement of the performance will show the sense of adventure by having the STEAM train as a backdrop.
The performance is free of charge and will be at:
•11 November 2015 at Parc Paragon
•12 November 2015 at Bangkok Arts and Cultural Centre
•13 November 2015 at Hua Lamphong Station
•14 November 2015 at British Council in Chiang Mai
