Are you eligible to enter FameLab?

Entrants must be of Thai nationality, who are 21 years old or older, studying or working in science, engineering, technology, medicine or mathematics (STEM).

We welcome: We cannot accept:
Lecturers in STEM subjects, including specialist science teachers with a science degree Press or PR officers, even for science-related organisations
Researchers who use existing research or meta-studies – they don’t have to get their hands dirty Artists who work on science-related themes
People who work on applying STEM – for example, patent clerks, statisticians, computer technicians, consultants to industry Performers whose shows are about science or engineering
Post-graduate students of STEM subjects (over 21) Science centre staff who work exclusively or mainly with the public
People who apply STEM in the armed forces or government bodies Journalists and broadcasters (as their main or only job)
People who apply STEM in industry or business Non-specialist school teachers

2. Enter FameLab via video audition: Submit your three minutes talk in science through a video entry by 8 March 2020. Read competition requirements and tips here

The announcement of shortlisted candidates will be made on 16 March 2020

3. Compete in Regional Heat: Shortlisted applicants will be invited to compete in the Regional Heats in front of judges and the public. 10 finalists will be selected to attend the Masterclass.

4. Attend a two-day Masterclass: Saturday & Sunday 18 - 19 April 2020 in Bangkok. 10 finalists will attend the Masterclass to gain invaluable skills from our UK expert trainer, make new friends and expand their network.

*Special for FameLab Thailand 2020 - If you are applying for Research Award, you must submit your proposal by Sunday 26 April 2020.

5. FameLab Thailand Final Competition: Saturday 9 May 2020 in Bangkok. Face the live crowd, put your trained skills in action and win prizes. FameLab Thailand 2020 winner will be selected to compete in the International FameLab Competition in the UK. 

6. International FameLab Competition: 31 May - 6 June 2020 at Cheltenham Science Festival, UK. Visit the origin of FameLab, see world-leading experts talk, meet fellow FameLabbers from across the world, and gain experience on a global stage.
